The House of Lords HS2 Select Committee has today (Thursday 15 December) published its findings.
After sitting for more than 60 days and 314 petitions heard, the committee completed its hearings on December 1. Following the publication of its report the HS2 Hybrid Bill can proceed to the next stage.
The Department for Transport and HS2 Ltd will issue a formal reply to the report, and the Bill will go to the House of Lords will hear its third reading. After consideration of amendments the Bill will receive Royal Assent and become an Act of Parliament in the new year.
Warwickshire County Council presented its fourth petition to the committee in July on unresolved issues including local authority costs and ecology.
