County Council submits new HS2 petition

Warwickshire County Council has lodged a petition to Parliament against the proposed amendments to the HS2 phase one scheme.

The petition contains the county council’s summary of objections to certain aspects of the HS2 hybrid Bill amendments, known as Additional Provisions or AP2.

Petitioning the HS2 select committee is the chance to secure mitigation, compensation and amendments to the scheme. Warwickshire County Council is petitioning on the basis that it intends to protect the county from the many impacts of the scheme.

It is the second petition submitted by the county council, following the challenge on the initial hybrid bill.
