HS2 Property Compensation and Safeguarding consultations – information event dates announced

Those directly affected by the new high speed rail line that will link London and the West Midlands are to get a chance to find out more about the Department for Transport’s (DfT) recently announced property compensation and safeguarding proposals, which are currently out for consultation.  Details are published today of 22 information events that will be held along the route over the next three months.

These events are an opportunity to discuss any specific property related issues with representatives from both HS2 Ltd and DfT.  Those attending can also look at route maps, factsheets and the consultation documents.

Alison Munro, Chief Executive of HS2 Ltd, said:

“The new high speed rail network will help to grow the economy by providing capacity to meet the rising demand for train services and by improving connections between our major cities.  But we do understand the impact it will have on people living close to the line and the Government has recently published a range of property compensation measures for consultation.

The information events we are running are an opportunity for those directly affected to come and discuss the proposals in more detail with our property teams.”

The first event will be held in Old Oak Common in west London on Thursday 15 November and the final event is in Brackley, Northamptonshire on Wednesday 16 January 2013.
