Future Shadow Roadshows and Advice Clinics

Latest News

North Warwickshire residents are being urged to have their say on the controversial HS2 rail link.

Organised by the various Action Groups along with the Borough Council, the ‘shadow roadshows’ will  supplement the formal consultation event on 11 June at Water Orton.

Councillor Dominic Ferro, Borough Council Spokesperson on HS2 said: “ The HS2 rail link will significantly affect areas of North Warwickshire and the Borough Council has formally opposed the development.  With only one official event organised in the Borough, we have been working with the various North Warwickshire Action Groups to organise these additional roadshows. I would encourage anyone interested to go along and make their views known. “

What can you expect to see and hear at an HS2 Roadshow?

Latest News
HS2 Road shows will be reaching Warwickshire soon. They provide an opportunity to speak with experts on noise, engineering and the economic benefits of HS2.

The exhibition has large high-tech touch screens which make it easy to look at the detail of the route, listed buildings, properties affected by noise and economic growth areas. There is no additional information compared to what has already been published but it is easier to see and navigate than in the printed versions.

Fact sheets on topics such as the cross-section, trains, noise, economic case and selection of the route are available to pick up and take away to read.

Sound booths give recordings of current noise levels in a number of locations and then these are overlaid with the predicted noise of a train passing.

The public consultation will run until 29 July, and there will be roadshows in towns and villages along the proposed route between London and the West Midlands.

The roadshows will give local people an opportunity to read the evidence underlying the proposals and a wide range of material explaining the project including a number of factsheets.

There will be experts for people to talk to, such as engineers, environmentalists and property specialists from HS2 Ltd and the Department for Transport, who can explain the proposals in detail and the potential effects on the local area.
